TAMALES: masa (water, cornmeal, lard, salt), beef and pork, cornmeal, tomato paste, onion, salt, paprika, spices, garlic.
SAUCE: water, tomato paste, corn starch, chili pepper, spices, paprika, garlic.
Heating: Stove: Place tamales in baking pan or saucepan and heat on medium until warmed through. Microwave: Place tamales in microwave-safe dish. Heat on high about 3 minutes, turning once. Refrigerate after opening. Serving Suggestions: Place heated tamales on platter, remove wrappers and top with sauce. For added zest, top with La Preferida cheese sauce or salsa. Serve with La Preferida refried beans and La Preferida Spanish rice.
