Cooking instructions: Sort and rinse beans prior to cooking. Dried beans are a raw agricultural product and may contain foreign material. Bring 7 cups of water to a boil. Add the contents of the large bag to the boiling water. Cover tightly and simmer over a low heat for 2 hours or until tender, stirring occasionally. Add desired an amount of seasoning during the last 10 minutes of cooking. Season to taste. Makes 5 one-cup servings. For a heartier meal, try adding chicken, meat or vegetables (Note: if chicken or meat is added, soup is not parve 24.)
