The colloquial name for a kind of edible black mushroom that is frequently found in northern Haiti and utilized as a delicacy in several Haitian cuisines, such as diri djondjon, is djondjon (also spelled djon djon or djon-djon). Although the word "djon-djon" refers to a broad variety of mushrooms, among Haitians it particularly refers to the highly valued Psathyrella cf. hymenocephala kind, which is farmed only in Haiti and consumed in dried form by Haitians worldwide. A common ingredient in traditional Haitian cooking is the djon-djon fungus.
