Garbanzo Beans might be most popular as the main ingredient in hummus, but they’re also a delicious part of many Italian, Middle Eastern, and Indian recipes. Also known as chickpeas, they’re a great source of protein, minerals, vitamins, fiber, and other beneficial nutrients. Like all of our beans, Camellia’s Garbanzo Beans are non-GMO, gluten-free, and meet the “Hayward Standard” – the name our growers gave our bean quality standard – which exceeds the top USDA requirements. Try some today – we think you’ll taste the difference.
Garbanzos
Camellia’s Garbanzo Beans: 1 lb. Camellia Garbanzo Beans. 10 cups water. 1 Cup green bell pepper, diced. 1 cup onion, diced. 1 cup celery, diced. 1 clove of garlic, chopped. 1 lb ham or seasoning meat, diced. Salt and pepper to taste. Rinse and soft beans. In a large saucepan, add beans, water, green bell pepper, onion, celery and garlic. Cover and simmer about 1 hour. When garbanzos begin to soften, add diced meat and cook 1 hour longer, or until tender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serves 6-8. Dried beans and peas are naturally grown, raw agricultural products. Although they have been mechanically cleaned before packaging, some foreign material may be present, wash and carefully sort before cooking.
