Real cherries are used to make maraschino cherries. Following their bleaching, the cherries are immersed in a second solution including sugar, red food coloring, and bitter almond oil for around four weeks. They have a vibrant crimson color and a sweet flavor thanks to this treatment. These are Luxardo marasca cherry syrup-soaked candied cherries. In jars and tins, the ratio of syrup and marasca cherries is almost equal to 50%. The deep crimson color is entirely natural, and there are no preservatives or thickening agents of any kind utilized.
