Ingredients

Enriched Long Grain Rice (Rice, Niacin, Iron [Ferric Orthophosphate], Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid).

Directions

Stovetop Instructions: Bring 2 cups water to a boil in medium saucepot on medium-high. Stir 1 cup rice into boiling water and cover. Reduce heat to lowest setting; simmer 20 minutes. Remove pot from heat and let stand 5 minutes or until liquid has been absorbed and rice is tender. Microwave: Place 2 cups water and 1 cup rice in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 5 minutes or until boiling, then cover and microwave on medium (50% power) for 15 more minutes. Remove from microwave and let stand 5 minutes or until liquid has been absorbed and rice is tender. Microwave ovens vary, adjust times as needed. Note: Add 1 tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon salt per cup of rice when cooking, if desired. 1 cup uncooked rice makes about 3 cups cooked rice. Boil rice in broth or stock for added flavor. Serve as a side with your favorite entree and vegetables. Substitute rice for pasta with your favorite pasta sauce. Place uncooked rice into food processor until blended into s fine powder to make rice flour. Grind uncooked rice in your spice grinder to clean it out. To retain vitamins, do not rinse before or after cooking.
