Passed down for generations in Eastern Europe purely by word of mouth, it gained global fame after our family immigrated to the United States in 1976, where we share the secret - the first batches of Lifeway kefir were crafted in our basement in Chicago in 1986. We use milk that has not been treated with artificial hormones (No significant difference has been shown between milk derived from rBSt treated cows and non rBST treated cows). I'm green plastic.
