Servings 2: Water (or Milk) (For thicker oatmeal or more water or milk for thinner oatmeal use more water): 1-3/4 cups. Oats: 1 cup. Salt (optional) (For low sodium diets, omit salt): 1/8 tsp. Stove top: (1) Bring water (or milk) and salt to a boil. (2) Stir in oats. (3) Cook uncovered for 1 minute over medium heat or until desired texture; stir occasionally. Microwave: Servings: 1; Water (or milk) (For thicker oatmeal, use less water. For thinner oatmeal, use more water): 1 cup. Oats: 1/2 cup. Salt (optional) (For low sodium diets, omit salt): dash.
