Stove top: Servings 1: Water (or milk) (For thicker oatmeal, use less water. For thinner oatmeal, use more water) - 1 cup. Oats - 1/2 cup. Salt (optional) (For low sodium diets, omit salt) - dash. Servings 2: Water (or milk) (For thicker oatmeal, use less water. For thinner oatmeal, use more water) - 2 cups. Oats 1 cup. Salt (optional) (For low sodium diets, omit salt) - 1/8 tsp. Microwave: Servings 1: Water (or milk ) (For thicker oatmeal, use less water. For thinner oatmeal, use more water) - 1 cup. Oats 1/2 cup. Salt (optional ) (For low sodium diets, omit salt)- dash. Stove top: (1) Bring water (or milk) and salt to a boil. (2) Stir in oats. (3) Cook uncovered for 5 minutes over medium heat or until desired texture; stir occasionally. Microwave: (1) For one serving, combine water (or milk), salt and oats in a medium microwave -salt bowl. (2) Microwave on high for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes keep watch to prevent boil over.
